Folder Placement
Win 7 Prof (64-bit)
8GB Ram
500GB SATA Drive C
1000GB 2nd drive part'd as D & E
8GB FlashDrive as ReadyBoost
I waited for a new build of ATI 2010 before my purchace: after publication of a new build (6029) I finally bought having thought most of the kinks would be ironed out.
When I start ATI 2010 (for imaging my C drive) I get a "My Backup" folder on my FlashDrive!, my drive E (which is where I want it), root directory of drive D, and a folder in C:\Users\username\My Documents\My Backup Foldername. Is this folder placement really necessary?
I don't even want a folder called "My Backup." Is there some setting option I can use to stop this nonsense (especially placement on my flashdrive). Has this issue been groused about before? I tried to search the forum but my search yielded garbage.

Hello,
After performing some research I have found the similar issue in some other threads, so it appears to be the issue with the product. I apologize for incorrect instructions given previously. We have escalated this issue to our Development Team, I will keep you updated.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,

I find that My Backups folders get created when I create a task or edit one that does not have a backup target set, specifically at the point where I am prompted to browse for a location. They are created in this case on each drive to which I have saved a backup previously.

So here we are only *three* years later, and Acronis 2013 still defaults to inserting a "My Backups" folder at any backup location. Why??? Acronis used to be such a professional product, but now it seems to have fallen back to the amateur ranks. Why can't a default folder name be specified (or better yet, left off)? I can't believe Acronis developers have been working for three years to fix such a simple issue.

You can choose any folder and any folder name you want, and do not have to use "My Backups". But yes, the default is "My Backups" ans there is no way to set a different default.
