Format not supported

I'm running version Home 2011 6696 on a latp running WIndows7 64-bit. This morning a scheduled backup ran. It was the first scheduled backup, it did a full backup last week. When I try to mount eith the Full backup or the differential that ran this mornning I get a Unsupported File error which states "Error while opening the archive file. The archive format is not supported by this operation". Both files were created as .tib files.

No. I deleted the partition because I could not access it using F11 during bootup. If neccessary I use the Recovery DIsks.

The Recovery partition is usally formatted as Fat32. Your C drive is NTFS. If you just deleted the data in the Recovery partition, the partition is still there and could coase the mounting problem you are having
If you open your .tib file and it is still there, you will 3 files with names like "Recovery" and "C", each can be mounted separately

Is it file backup or partition backup?

JoeG:
I used the WIndows Disk Management to delete the partition and then extended the C drive to used the deleted partition space. THe backup files are on a USB drive (H:) On the H drive is the "My Backups" folder which contains 2 files. One is named "TouchSmart.tib" (274GB) and the other is "TouchSmart2.tib" (211GB).
dev-anon:
They are both File backups.

Mount is not supported for file backups. You can restore some files from it from program itself or explore its content in windows explorer that open it on double-click.

If you open a file backup with a double click, you can copy and paste the files you want
