Formatting Pen drive after installing it as a recovery manager

Thread needs solution

HI have a pen drive that I built as a recovery manager using Home 2011. Now I want to recover the pen drive for regular usage. How do I remove the recovery manager software and format the disk so that it is clean? I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere for this.

Thanks
Steve

Stephen:

You can use the Windows command DISKPART from a command prompt to clean the drive. Cleaning the drive will delete all of the partitions on the drive and rewrite a standard Master Boot Record. After the flash drive has been cleaned you can partition and format it as usual. An article describing the procedure for Windows 7 is here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/52129-disk-clean-clean-all-diskpar…
However, DISKPART is also available in Windows XP and Vista, so the process is similar.
