general options - where are they?

The UI for previous versions were difficult but manageable. I really don't care for the new UI at all. Anyway, I have been looking for the general options but can not find any mention of them. I especially want to turn off auto detect when attaching a USB drive that may contain old TI information. I would also like to remove individual versions from a backup scheme but can't find a way to do that.
