I have had this happen several times today and likely other days. However, today I traced it down by carefully reading the "View Log"
see the screenshots.
Generally, you make one bad backup, where ATIH fails. The colored bar cones up with Last Backup Failed ... view log.
You investigate the settings and see if you have access to the external drive.
You find you didn't so you correct that problem.
Verify by seeing the external drive in windows explorer.
Start Backup again.
While it finishes correctly, as later seen in the "View Logs" ... the Error/Bad Backup indicator is still there.
So you make a series of backups and in fact they were all goo once the initial error was corrected.
