GPT Boot failure after cloning

Thread needs solution

Hi All. I have an ASUS ROG laptop with a stock HDD and an M.2 SSD port that I have just installed an SSD drive into. I cloned my HDD to my SSD, the Acronis software automatically changed my BIOS boot priority to my new SSD, but all it does is boot to a black screen with my mouse cursor. It doesn't even get to the Windows login screen. I set the BIOS to boot from my HDD and can still boot from that. I DO want to keep my HDD in my laptop as added storage. Both drives are formatted as Basic GPT drives and I'm also using Windows 10 x64. Thanks

Derrik, welcome to these User Forums.

Was the M.2 SSD installed before you did the cloning so that Windows 10 identified new hardware and installed any required device drivers?

Have you tried removing the original HDD (temporarily) and then tried to boot from the M2 SSD after setting the BIOS Priority to Windows Boot Manager (from the SSD)?

Do you have the same SATA controller mode for both the HDD and SSD drives, i.e. both AHCI for example?
