Hard drives not detected on Windows 7 using Acronis True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

Just purchased a new system running 64 bit version of Windows 7. Attempted to image the system and get an error message stating no hard drives can be detected. Does the 2009 version support Windows 7 or do I need to purchase a new version of the program? Is this a windows 7 issue or is it a hard drive issue? Having difficulty maneuvering through the support info.

Thanks for any help!

What build of TI2009 are you using?

Is your problem from within Windows or from the rescue CD?

Is this drive the booting drive (the one with your C:\ partition on)?

Are your disks formatted as basic type NTFS - Dynamic Disks are not supported by 2009.

The last build of TI 2009 should work in W7.

It is possible that you might need to update the SnapApi Acronis driver.

First, check that you have no other utility that might be blocking access to the drive - defragmenter, bitlocker, other security software, SQL database or similar.

Then follow the link for further instructions. It does say ABR10 at the top, but applies to TI2010 as well in this instance.
