Hard drives won't boot after cloning - BSOD

Thread needs solution

Hello, I've been using Acronis True Image Home 2010 for a while now without any problems but today I encountered a major problem that I hoping you all can help me solve.

I installed a 3rd hard drive and cloned my main HD to it, and when I tested it everything loaded correctly. Then I grouped my two existing hard drives into RAID0 and tried to clone my backup drive to my new RAID0 array. After the cloning my RAID controller didn't show a RAID array and none of my hard drives boot sucessfully, they just flash a BSOD for a split second before rebooting. The 3rd drive I installed still shows that it has all of my information on it but now that it's not a bootable drive how can I clone it to my RAID0 array without causing my RAID array to fail to boot as well? I would like to get all my files and programs onto my RAID array or at lest fix my backup drive so I can boot from it and have full access to all my programs and files again.

I've tried using the Windows 7 64-bit repair disk but it says that it cannot repair my windows installation.

Any and all help is greatly appriceated.

When you move from a simple disk (IDE/SATA) interface to a RAID, you change the disk controller and that is the same problem as changing computer:
- you cannot clone your way out of this,
- you can consider doing a disk and partition backup, and then use the Universal Restore feature that comes with a bootable Acronis disk produced after you have purchased and installed the Acronis Plus Pack.

Although trying the UR feature is often the best way short of way reinstalling the OS and apps, it is not easy to use and can fail to meet expectations.

If I were you, I would reinstall my OS and apps.

I am having something similar. I am trying to install a second SDD into my laptop and trying to clone it, but it will not work nor will it copy over the boot file. Any takers what I am doing wrong?

Clone should be used only by advanced users who know what they are doing. It is riskier and can result in a loss of data and a failed system. Create a full disk mode backup and restore it, using the bootable Rescue Media, to the new disk, as it's far safer.
