Have You Tested Your Build 7046 Rescue Disc?
My Build 7046 Rescue discs boot successfully. However, when I try to run any operation against a TIB file - e.g., validate or recover, nothing happens - no error message, no feedback of any kind. Other Rescue disc functions work correctly. Note that I am able to validate, recover, etc. with Build 6053 Rescue discs. I have tried Build 7046 Rescue discs created by the application in Windows as well as those downloaded from the Acronis site. I am using the Plus Pack.

I have a USB wireless keyboard & mouse, and I get no response if I exclusively use the mouse -- i.e. cursor and right-click brings up a context menu, but the "do it" left-button click does not work. But if I select an archive and right-click to bring up the context menu, highlight "Validate Archive" and press the "Enter" key, it does work. So I "kinda sorta" have mouse support. Nobody thinks about using the keyboard when the mouse cursor is functioning -- you expect the left/right mouse buttons to function properly also. With the same .ISO booted in a virtual machine (tried both VirtualBox and Win7's VirtualPC), the mouse works as it should.
I used the PlusPack to create a WinPE 3.0 .ISO, and the mouse works fine. Check out the "how to" that's in the sticky section. IMO it's worth the trouble.

Thanks very much - it didn't occur to me that the problem could be with the mouse as other mouse operations work. I'll give a whirl. Thanks again.

Will this thread melt down with too many Gary's?
garryj - I am glad to hear the WinPE ISO worked out for you. I am a big advocate of this approach.

The downloaded ISO file from my account for 7046 build with Plus Pack did a full backup/validation/shutdown fine, with no error messages. All approaches to defining files for recovery or disks for backups work as expected.

To my surprise, the problem (inability to run validate, restore or other TIB file operations with Rescue Discs) was in fact related to my wireless mouse. While other mouse operations worked fine, those did not. Using a wired mouse eliminated the problem.
Thanks, Garry. I don't think I would have made the connection without your help. How the heck did you make the discovery!

Glad to hear it works! I've used some linux systems in the past where mouse support was a bit quirky when used with certain hardware.

The rescue disk still does not work with USB keyboard and/or mouse!!

Hello,
Gary Darsey, thank you very much for your assistance, your were great as always.
Gary Ellis, I'm really glad that you've managed to fix the issue.
H Dooyeweerd, let me help you. Could you please let me know the build number of Acronis True Image Home 2010? You can find it at Help -> About section. The thing is that we've released a new build #7046 with Dutch localization yesterday.
Could you please download that new build from your account, install it, create a new bootable media and check if the issue still persists?
Please reply to this thread if you still experiencing any issues.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
