Having trouble cloning disk with True Image WD Edition

Thread needs solution

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I will give it a go.

I purchased a new Western Digital HD, installed it as my secondary HD, and successfully my original C drive to the new HD. I used the True Image WD edition to do this and had no problems.

Now I am trying to clone my C drive to my M drive (an external HD - WD Passport portable HD - 500 mb).

I have tried this several times. Each time the operation proceeds without any hitches - but at a MUCH faster rate than when I cloned my C drive to the secondary internal HD. When the computer is rebooted I check the M drive and there is nothing on it.

The Acronis Tasks Management window shows that the cloning was successful. The attached picture shows the Tasks Management dialog for one of my attempts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Western Digital edition is based on True Image 2009, I don't know how often or if at all the drivers are updated by either Acronis or Western Digital. Ti 2013 uses updated drivers.

Thanks, Colin.

If this is true how would I have been able to clone my C drive to my secondary internal HD using the WD edition?

In any event, is there someway I could still use the WD edition to clone my C drive to my WD portable HD?

Clinton,

I'm not sure what you mean, I understood you to say that 2013 cloned faster than WD Edition. are you saying that WD Edition cloned your drive but 2013 wouldn't?

Clinton:

The WD Edition is based on an Acronis True Image release from four years ago. So, most of us have long since moved on from such an old version, and we don't use the WD Edition anyway. You might be better posting your question in the WD forum:
