Help: cant use my full backup
Hello,
i got a notebook with Win7 64bit German and a 120GB SSD OCZ Vertex2 and did a install with booting CD ATI 2011 PLUS PACK - so i booted and created a full backup.
The SSD died today.. no detection of drive anymore.. so i got a new one.. same drive... same size.. and installed it and booted from Acronis.
I selected the .tib File from the NAS and then it happpens...
It shows:
NTFS (system reserved) pri. act. 100mb C:\
MBR Track 0
NFTS (Unamend) pri 107GB D:\
So.. you see the problem.. after i select the whole drive it asks me for the Savings for C .. so i select the unused new drive... THEN it asks me for D and i select the rest and it says "NOT ENOUG SPACE FOR BOOTING SYSTEM" or something like that.. .so i cant use this backup ?!?!

One recovery option
Install the new disk in the computer and boot from the bootable media TI CD.
Choose the recovery option from the top menu.
Checkmark the disk as to what is to be restored (all partitions will become checked) and let TI restore the entire backup. On the screen where you select the target disk, also select the Recover Disk Signature.

Sorry but i think you dont understand my problem... i cant take screenshot when using the ATI bootcd so i show you this picture.
"Checkmark the disk as to what is to be restored (all partitions will become checked) and let TI restore the entire backup. On the screen where you select the target disk, also select the Recover Disk Signature."
After checking the entire disk i must select new storage place for "C" and then for "D"
and this does not work.. sorry i cant describe it better
When i select D and choose the space it tells me that space is too small for booting system or something like that

Marc,
What I was trying to convey is that one choice would be to restore the entire disk as one item.
Look at the examples below.
Image 1 shows what to choose for what is to be restored from the backup file.
Image 2 shows that you check the target disk to receive everything on the backup file. The image 2 example shows you are choosing at disk level and all of the partitions shown via image 1 will be included into the target disk.

Thanks for help... the problem is my screen looks different.. my next step is not "Destination of Disk 1" - next step i have is "selecting the new storage place for C" then for D and then MBR selection.
I dunno why this is... i got 2 backups.. one from end of october where this occurs and one from september... the september one is as u described and i used this one.. but i dont understand why the october is this problem

Possibly the older backup was not made in disk mode?

What is "disk mode" ? I cant remember how i did this backup... under Windows or TI BOOT CD.
but i got news..
i installe another HDD (bigger size as the one from the org.) and when i process the steps C Drive... D Drive... it again shows the error "possible not enough space on system drive for booting" or so (sorry its in german) and i tried then to increase the D size and then it worked.. its running atm.. but this did not work of course with the smaller disc.
But anyway.. i toought TI also works then full backups are recoverd on smaller discs ?
