Help getting ti 2010 to run in windows 7

Thread needs solution

After getting ti 2010 working initially in new windows 7 install, I now get the dreaded "program stops working" which appears to be the new BSOD for windows 7. This happens at initial launch and sometimes into point where I select location of backup folder. I've tried reinstalling about a dozen times to no avail and I've even used the cleaner utility with no success. I've tried the following versions of true image home 2010: 6053, 7046, 7154 and 7160. Is there a preferred version for windows 7 or should these versions be installed in a certain order? All I'm trying to do is backup an ssd drive (C) to an external 3 tb drive. This should not be a complicated event. I'm very frustrated and am looking for any help. I've been using Acronis product since 2009 and if I can't get this resolved I will need to find something else becaus this product not only does not work but is unreliable and I can't trust this software as a backup product to secure my data. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, Ralph

You should be using 7160 and it works well with Windows 7 AFAICT. It doesn't seem to like 3TB drives though (there's another thread here about a WD 3TB--I think he's re-partitioned to <2TB).

Anyway if you can solve the 3TB issue 2010 is very reliable I think.

Ralph,

Your 3TB needs to partitioned in partitions smaller than 2TB with an MBR, otherwise ATI won't see them. The Acronis Plus Pack adds GPT disk support, but you won't be able to purchase it with ACronis 2010. As of now you can purchase it for 2012.

Also 2012 doesn't require Plus Pack to work with basic GPT disk. Dynamic disks still require PP.
