Help, one of my raid drives is failing

Thread needs solution

How can I get all the data from 2 raid 0 drives onto 1 new drive? The new drive would have to be bootable and operate as a single drive. Is True Image the right application?

If you have a hardware RAID (set up in BIOS), you would have to use the Acronis Plus Pack to insert the non-Raid disk controller drivers (probably AHCI drivers) into the image as it is been restored, with the Universal Restore feature.
UR doesn't always work easily.
If you have a software RAID (set up in Windows), or if you want to take the longer but simpler way, simply backup your content, reinstall Windows and your apps and move your content back.

Thanx Pat,
The raid is hardware based on a Dell XPS 420. It has two 1 TB WD drives that I'm trying to get onto one 2 TB WD drive. The trouble with trying to backup data is that the computer keeps shutting down and has to be rebooted with system restore in windows. This is my father's computer and he doesn't like changes in how he has learned to work with his PC. He's 85 YO and doesn't want to learn new tricks. I saw a copy of True Image 2013 Plus on Amazon. Is that the right product for the job?

Bill

YOu will need True Image 2013 *with* the Plus Pack to be able to use Universal Restore.

Thanks again Pat.
I thought the True Image 2013 Plus offered on Amazon already includes the Plus Pack.

You have an interesting signature line. Are you running Vista on a virtual machine over your Win 7 Box?

Bill

Yeah.. My signature is a bit obsolete, actually. I am now running Win8 pro and I don't have much usage for the Vista virtual machine, ...
