Home 2009 Date-/Timestamps on restored files/directories

Thread needs solution

First of all sorry, I'm new here, read the faqs, searched the forum but could not find anything related to my issue. Also my native language is NOT english.

For a longer time i have installed Acronis True Image 2009, actual v9.0 Build 2.293, on a PC with dual Core CPU, 4GB under Windows XP SP3. Installation, backup and restore worked as normal.

But there is an issue on restoring files/directories. Always the date-/timestamps of the restored files/directories were set to actual instead of the original.

Because of this, i never used the software to restore my Acronis backups. Instead i backed up my files/dirs in zip archives or 1to1 on a separate disc.

Now I have a new second PC driven by a quad core under Windows 7 Home x64 and for that i had bought Acronis True Image Home 2011 Plus. Now I gave that a new try and found that restoring of files/dirs is as expected. Restored files/dirs have the date-/timestamp of the original.

Is there any workaround without having to throw away a useless version 9 and upgrade with full costs to version 2012? And if, who can guarantee that this issue will not stay with me under WinXP?

Thanks in advanced for any helpfull reply.

Regards Hans

Edit: just installed the last Upgrade Version 9.0 (build 3,694). Issue stills exists.

There should be a setting for this when yo set up the restore. Be sure the box is not checked to Set current date and time for restored files.
See p. 54 of userguide.

Actually I recommend creating a brand new tasks saving the backups to a new location and making sure all settings re as desired rather than editing an old tasks.

If this works, then you can delete the old tasks. This will delete the backup files associated with the task also unless you have first moved them to some other location with windows explorer.

I think, I never changed anything in the restore settings, so maybe I never looked in there. My fault, your advice was brilliant! Restore now is ok with the files, the directories still get the actual date which is not the case with ATIH 2011 Plus on my Windows 7 system. Curious.
