How to backup files from a network drive
I have a simple home network with some files on a networked attached drive. I need to backup the changed files in some of the folders on a daily basis so I am attempting to use a incremental backup at system start up time but am having trouble getting it going.
At the time of the system start up there are no other computers powered on that can access the network attached drive.
Here is the log reports of two attempts to reference the drive. The backup does not seem to find any files to backup but I can guarantee there are plenty to backup.
I am using Acronis 11.0 build 8101. My Op sys was Vista Home premium but was upgraded to Windows 7 to attempt to resolve the issue. Both Op sys were at the latest and greatest levels.
From perusing the forum I assume the error messages documented in lines 2-5 are a normal occurrence but the "nothing to backup " error message is what I am concerned about.
IF I RUN THIS TASK MANUALLY THE TASK COMPLETES WITH NO ERRORS>
Here is two runs with changes for locating the backup folders and files.

Does the backup run if you run it manually or if you schedule it for a time other than at startup? Perhaps everything hasn't initialized yet when TI tries to run.

MudCrab.
Yes it will run if I start it manually but I have no control over when and how Acronis starts a task at system boot time.
In my perusing the forums I ran across a procedure on how to force the network to become active before Acronis would start the task but I forgot to bookmark the page and I can not find it again. It involved a user commend to be executed before Acronis would continue.
Would really like to find that post again. I am not even sure if it was on this forum or some other one I visited in an attempt to resolve this issue.

Mudcrab,
Not the one I was thinking about but it's worth a shot. TIMEOUT is a DOS command and it works under the DOS prompt.

John
