How to boot to a newly installed hard drive.

Thread needs solution

I had to replace my hard drive today. Before I removed it I backed it up with Acronis True Image 2012 to an external hard drive. It created a .tib file there. I then removed the old drive and replaced it with a new one. When I boot up tomorrow should I use the CD disk that came with the product or use the external drive with the backup file on it?
Thanks.

Boot from the CD and start the TrueImage full version. Browse to the disk and folder containing the backup file.

Select the backup file for restoring.

When selecting what to restore, check mark the disk block so all partitions become checked for restore.
On the next screen is where you select the target disk which is the new disk.
Also on the same screen in lower left is the option "Recover Disk Signature". Check mark this option so the signature will be restored.

Upon completion. Shutdown and reboot with only the new disk attached.

Good luck.
