How to correctly apply Incremental Backups
Scenario:
I am running TIH 2012 on Windows 7.
Each Monday, I first move the previous week's 7 backup files to another drive then,
Each Monday I backup my C drive with a "FULL" backup.
Every other day ( Tue to Sun ) I backup C with an "Incremental" ( not Differential ) backup.
Now suppose it is now Saturday, I decide that I need to Recover my C drive back to Wednesday's image.
What steps do I take?
I believe I have to recover the Friday Inc backup, then the Thurs Inc backup , then the Wed Inc backup.
Is this the correct process?????
Thanks

Enchantech,
Thanks for your note. Sorry about the word order, I meant it to be every other day other than Monday; ie Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun.
So how doe that change your reply.
BTW, can you tell me in my scenario: When I do apply an Inc backup taken today, does it replace just the sectors which I have changed since yesterday? I am guessing that it the case.
Thanks again.

Your scheme does not change my answer at all.
Here is a synopsis of the different backup schemes, full, incremental, differential, hopefully this will explain the differences and fundamentals.

If you restore the backlup taken today, the restore will put your system back to what it was at time backup was created.
You would select todays Inc to be restored and the restore would begin the restore with the FULL BACKUP and then restore each inc in successive order including todays Inc. The type of restore (how much data) would depend upon the type of restore you chose. If you selected partition restore, then the selected partition would be restored. If you chose the disk type to be restored, then then the disk (all partitions on disk) would be restored. If you want only a single file restored, then you must be sure and chose a Files and Folder as the restore method and select only the single file.
