How to create a copy of my existing Windows 7 system and use it as a second bootable OS?
Typically I have always dual-booted/multi-booted with a combination of different operating systems. But I actually have some unique needs for a sony vaio laptop of mine, and I want to do something I'm not quite sure how to do.
I currently have my 500 gig disk partitioned like this:
100mb windows 7 system partition
C:\ - Windows 7 - 150 gig
X:\ - storage - 200 gig
150 gig unpartitioned space
I have a full disk and partition backup I created with ATI on an external USB drive. I would like to recover that backup to my unpartitioned space, creating a new system partition. Once done, at startup I will be able to choose which Windows 7 installation I want to boot.
I have experience using EasyBCD, the windows recovery and repair tools, etc. But I'm just not sure how to go about doing what I want to do.
Could someone please help me figure out how to do this without breaking my MBR?
