How to create a Disk Image?

Thread needs solution

Just want to make sure I am doing this correctly. I would like to make a disk image in case there is a hardware failure so I can load just the image on a new drive.

Anyway if I select "Disk and partition backup", then select "switch to disk mode" - select the partitions.
On backup scheme - select full.

Will this create a disk image?
Should a disk image be created prior to any backup schemes?

Thanks for help,

Thomas

Thomas,

Once you've switched to disk mode, just place the tick in the disk number box, this will auto select all partition including any hidden ones, if you only select partitions this is all that will get imaged, your hidden partitions and MBR won't be included.

Personally I like to have a complete base image before I start making any backup schemes.

Tom,

Choose your backup scheme for the task. Whether it is full, incremental or differential, the first backup will be a full. The following backups will be full, differential or incremental depending on the task setting.
