This is what I keep trying but when I right click I do not have any instructions given.

Applicable to version 2013 and probably 2012.

To delete a task from the task listing:
From inside TrueImage and inside the specific task, RIGHT click on the "Backup settings" option and click the option MORE and select the "Remove task from LIST" option.
----------------------------------------------------------------

To delete the task and DELETE ALL BACKUPS files associated with this task:

From inside TrueImage and inside the specific task, RIGHT click on the "Backup settings" option and click the DELETE" option. Use with caution. The task plus All files and all chains made by this task will be deleted.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To delete specific backup files and allow others made by the task to remain:
From inside TrueImage and inside the specific task,
RIGHT Click the RECOVER button.
Click Recover Files option
Window will open listing all backup files made from the task will appear along the bottom margin.
Hover your mouse pointer over each file to see its date and type.
Right click on each file to be deleted and choose DELETE.
Remember, if incremental files are to be deleted, delete only the newest in the chain. A chain must contain the full plus each inc starting from the full up to the inc being recovered.

Note also that it is possible to have the program delete the old backups automatically as part of the ongoing backups.

Note the backup scheme examples inside this link:
11-Full
11-Inc
11-Dif

So basically you really can't delete incremental backups. I thought that you can delete the middle versions - keep the first and the last.

With incremental type backups, each inc is a backup of what has changed from the first inc, so each is a building block on the other. If you loose one block, the structure comes tumbling down.

So for incremental type backups, any deletion must begin with the newest or most recent incr created and each delete must be of the most recently created versioin. Any deletion of the oldest inc will render all inc non-usable leaving only the full capable of being restored.

If the wrong inc files are deleted, it is not possible to continue performing backups with the same task. A new task is needed to begin the numbering .
---------------------------------------
Differential type backups (Full + X diff)
The full plus differential has a different structure. Each diff is all changes since the orignal full so restoring a full plus a single diff (2 tib files) can put your system backup to what it was at time of diff creation.

If the deletion is performed using TrueImage to perform the deletion, the backup creating/numbering system will continue. When deleting dif type files, the oldest diff or any grouping of diff can be deleted and the numbering will continue just as long as you have the full plus any number of diff files.

GH5. How to delete backup files using Acronis Backup 'Explorer'

Here some examples of how to set up a custom backup scheme where the program will perform it own deletion of the oldest chains based on user input ( store X) of how many chains to keep before the auto deletion begins.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme.Keep 4 versions (chains).
GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains.
GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains.
GH14. Custom Differential Backup Scheme . 6 Diff, Keep 4 chains. & folder
