How do I disable the check for backups on startup

Thread needs solution

I don't want TI to check for new backups on startup. I tried to uncheck it in the settings. It greys out the check mark but still checks at startup. thanks

Make sure your registry reads as below.

The problem of scanning at program startup appears to have been fixed in 2013 once you have set the proper option as shown in the link above. However, there is still a problem that occasionally without any warning, the program may populate the startup list again without any user requesting such action. This has been reported and hopefully fixed in a future release. The current workaround for such a problem is for the user to use the "Remove from list" option from within EACH backup task. individually. This will preserve the good tasks. Or, the can use the option to remove all task from the list but you will have to recreate the good tasks.

However, it you have everything properly set, and you are still getting a scan for backups every time you start the program, my suggestion would be that you re-install the program. This can be done by simply restarting the installation download and choose the REPAIR option. This will reinstall the program overtop you existing installation while preserving your tasks.

If you do the repair, before you restart the program for the first time, go into the registry again and check to make sure the "Scan for backups at startup" registry setting is set to 0.

I tried setting item to "0" in registry but it still updates on startup?

Did you also do the reinstall of TrueImage?

Once you clean out all the unwnated tasks listed, does it stay clean for awhile or does it refill again immediately on next restart of TI?

Are you running cCleaner or any other registry or disk cleaner?
If running cCleaner, open cCleaner and under the Applications tab, there is a UTILITIES sub-header where TrrueImage is listed and be sure it is unchecked.
