How do i stop TI making backups i dont want

Thread needs solution

Hi I am using windows 7 professional 64 bit edition with Acronis True Image 2011 with the plus pack.
My problem is True Image keep on making backup even if I have not set the scheduling or started the non stop backup, it saves the backup to my documents folder so how can I stop this happening please.

Easiest way is to uninstall 2011, reboot and reinstall.
If this doesn't fix it, let us know.

Hi Pat,
I my computer was due for a clean up so have reformated my hard drive and reinstalled all my software so i will see if it happens again

TI 2011 is set to do incremental backups after the first full backup by default, and I don't find the interface nearly as user friendly as 2010 - are you sure the schedule isn't turned on? The default scheme is 'version chain scheme' with differential backups. In fact I think I'm going back to 2010 shortly, as I can't even see how to remove incremental backups in the TI interface now; something that used to be simplicity itself in 2010....

To do full only, select Full backups, and check the box not to overwrite. Then on the next screen tell ATi to consolidate after 1 incremental. That will make the ATI leave one full backup instead of leaving an inc behind. also set the limits as deisred under the Old Version Cleanup Rules on that same screen -- this will make ATI delete the old backups when the limits are reahed. that's as good as it gets with ATI 2011.
In ati 2010 you have to do what amounts to the same thing.

I think ATI 11 (that's 11 not 2011) was the last version were it was easy to just do a limited series of full only backups. Since then, you sort of have to outsmart ATI into accomplishing this simple and backup strategy.
