how to renew a true image on "drive E" , Acronis TrueImage doesn't recognize it.

Thread needs solution

Hello Experts,

this seems to be a very basic job, but I don't know how to handle it.

I made a true image of my drive C: on an external drive some months before. Now I want to renew it. The drive connected via USB is very well recognised as "E" by my OS WIN-XP and after the autostart-procedure has finished (or canceled) I thouht it would be easy to start Acronis TrueImage again. But after 1~2 minutes TrueImage tells me that it cannot procede because there's only one drive recognised.

What's the trick here?

Thanks,

Andreas

Is the external drive powered up and connected to a rear connector?

Are you attempting the recovery when booted from the TI Rescue CD? If not, you should try using the CD as Acronis recommends any restore of your system drive be done when booted from the TrueImage Rescue CD.

Drive letters may differ in the CD. Use the drive characteristics or volume name as identity. Do not use Drive Letters because the Linux drivers uses a different method in assigning the drive letters.
