How safe is password protected images in ver. 8?

Thread needs solution

I have True Image ver. 8 (build 126). I am wondering just how secure is an archive that I have protected with an 5 word passphrase? (Ver. 8 does not encrypt the image, only protects it with a password/passphrase.)

I'm not worried about someone breaking the passphrase. It's the method with which TI protects the archive that I'm worried about. Is there any hint just how secure this older version of TI is?

Matter of fact, I've wondered how secure is the newer version of TI with it's full encryption of the image? Has anyone ever checked on this?

Security in ATI 8 is not very strong -- just a password that keep ATI for opening the file -- in fact, iirc, you might still be able to mount the drive and copy files without a password -- not sure. If someone had a program that could work ATI tib files or they knew the password, they could see your files.
