How to use Acronis True Image with WD AF disaster?

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have used Acronis True Image successfully for years to take HDD backup image and to recover it to new drive. There haven't been any problem since now, when I took C: boot partition backup image from Seagate 1TB and recovered to WD 1TB EARS - a drive with advanced formatting.
But results are disaster - drive is now visibly slower then expecetd ... 50% lets say for clarity :-)
And I can't figure out how to fix it.

What I did and please correct me, what did I wrong. :-)

1. Took a C: backup from 1TB Seagate - a 40GB boot partition with normal XP Pro SP3
2. Restored c: to empty (new) WD 1TB EARS (AF drive) (c: approximately of the same size - 35GB)
I left drive jumpers factory defaults - that's no jumper.
3. Started PC with XP and Created from running XP a drive D: to HDD spare.

Normally after step 2. new drive is up and system running but not with this AF drive
4. Downloaded from WD site WD Align - Acronis Windows Acronis alignment utility
AcronisAlignTool_s_e_314.exe
Installed and aligned drives C: and D:

Restarted PC
WD Align - Powered by Acronis: WD Align Wizard now declares that all Partitions are aligned optimally.

And when everything seemed to be OK I noticed very soon that drive is slower then normal.
Does anyone has nay ideas what's wrong?
Why disks is still visibly slower as described in AF troubleshooting without answers?
