Image and partition question

After a fresh install, I imaged my C (300 G) to my internal D (100 G) using ATI 2011, Build 5519 and then partitioned my C HDD. A reinstall of the image erased the partition and all data (not important) and lef justt the 300 G HDD again so I'm wondering if I missed something or should have created the partition before the original image? Thanks

It sounds like you restored the entire drive instead of just restoring the Windows partition into the existing Windows partition on the partitioned drive. An Entire Disk Image restore will replace the contents of the drive with whatever is in the backup (this includes all partitions). Restoring individual partitions is required when you need to retain the current partitioning on the drive (restoring one partition out of three, for example).
