Image Backup and Restore Annoyance...

Thread needs solution

This is a real kick in the pants - True Image Home 2011 allows you to image a drive/partition with file system errors, but absolutely refuses to restore the image BECAUSE of the file system errors.

Believe it or not, there are real-world situations when a user honestly and truly WANTS to keep those pesky file system errors intact.

Therefore, I earnestly request that True Image Home 2011 be updated with the user-selectable option to restore an image with known file system errors - PLEASE!

Thankyouverymuch...

Have you tried a sector by sector backup?

Are you restoring to a drive/partition that TI can restore to without needing to resize the file system?

"Have you tried a sector by sector backup?" - I'm not sure your question is relevant to my issue since the problem occurs when restoring an image.

"Are you restoring to a drive/partition that TI can restore to without needing to resize the file system?" - Yes.

TI may or may not be using sector-by-sector backup. However, if you specify that option when you create the backup, you will know what it's using. If the standard method is used, TI uses the file system and since the file system is corrupt, this may cause problems.
