ok nearly 4 days and no response.
How long before I can expect this issue to be looked at?

Sorry, I first thought you were having this issue when backing up...
Do you have the error when you explore the archive from within TI?

Try to be logged on the same as when the backup was created.

Open Windows explorer and browse to the *.tib file.
Right click on the backup file and choose the explore option.
Browse inside the backup file to the source file.
From there, you can copy the file and paste to a new location.

You may also have a bad data file.

Sorry for delay.

Ok this works:
1) Browse to \\Mars\f\Bakcup\Earth\Earth64_C(39)1.tib in Windows Explorer. (haha spelt backup wrong DOH!)
2) Double click the .TIB file. This brings up a new Explorer window where in can navigate thru the backup.
3) Found the file I needed within the backup and did right click > Copy
4) Went to destination folder and did right click > Paste and the file was copied without error.

This does not work:
1) Startup TI2011 GUI Interface
2) The backup is listed as one of the know locations
3) click "Explore and Recover"
4) click the "Files and Folders" tab
5) Navigate to the file I need and check the box.
6) Press the "Recover" button and set a restore location (same as where a pasted above).
7) see attached screen shot.....

Tim,
Did you move your backup file manually to the server share, by any chance? That could explain the problem.
If you delete or move TIB files, always do it from within ATI, otherwise the database of ATI is compromised.

\\Mars\f\Bakcup\Earth\Earth64_C(39)1.tib is an image of my XP Pro 64bit system before I moved to Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.
It was there before I installed TI2011 and it was added to the list by using 'Browse for backup'.

C:\Downloads is a directory within the backup where I kept an archive of stuff I downloaded.
TBH the location of my backup should not be relevant. After all is it just a .TIB file, why should it matter where it is?

This is a bug and it needs to be fixed.

OK. Do you see anything in the log that details the error?

I am running out of ideas.

It definitely looks like ATI didn't find the credentials when you browsed to the backup or didn't store them properly. It should be in the corresponding script in c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts.

If I had to fix this, I would:
- look in the Scripts folder to see if I could see a script corresponding to that backup file; I not, I would recreate the settings from within ATI,
- create a new backup to the same location,
- look at how this new script stores the username and password for that share,
- reproduce this in the old script,
- see if this solves the problem.

But I am not sure you should be too concerned, since you can retrieve your data at this point.
