Imaged a Server 2000 than converted to VHD no recieving NTLDR is Missing error ?

Thread needs solution

I imaged the C Drive of a windows 2000. I could not get true image to image directly from the machine as the boot would hang. I even tried the nodma, epic =no ect options to no avail. Would always hang during the CD boot. So I removed the drive put it in another machine and was able to create a image. I than ran true image 2014 and converted the tib file to a VHD. Copied to a 2008 server and created a new virtual machine using the converted VHD file and when I go to start the virtual server I get the following error Boot Failure. Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot Media in selected boot device.

I restored the image to another disk and start the server and get NTLDR in missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I put the original disk back in and it works fine.

End result is I am trying to virtual a existing windows 2000 server before the hardware craps out. There are some programs and AD that we need to maintain for a little while longer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the bootloader is corrupted. not sure how to repair that on a vhd though.
