Increase secure zone
I am unable to increase the Acronis Secure zone due to " bad blocks error" and this is regardless of the new size I might stipulate. Does this indicate a faulty hard drive or a prob with Acronis?

Hello Robert,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
If the issue persists you may try the following workaround. Create full disk image then format the drive, boot computer using Acronis bootable disc and restore the disk image with partition resizing. It will eliminate bad blocks information from the hard drive.

Dmitry, I have the same issue as Robert My situation is the following. I have 2 logical partitions of one hard disk. One is system partition. The second one is devoted for data and archives. There no bad blocks on the system partition. There is 1 bad sector on the data partition according to the checkdisk information. Acronis says it can not change the size of security zone because of bad blocks. But other disk diagnostic software does not find any bad sectors. I consider two possible solutions now:
1. Validate the archives and Format system disk and change it size when restoring partition from the archives on data partition.
2. Install new hard disk validate the archives and clone or restore the system partition.
So I have the following questions:
1. Can bad sectors on the data partition harm the restoration of the backup to the formatted partition
2. Can bad sectors prevent the restoration or cloning to the new hard disk?
3. The volume of the new hard disk will be larger than my. No other PC configuration changes are planned. Whan I shall I do to provide successfull cloning transaction of the system partition?
4. I plan to form two separate partitions on the new disk using disk Director. Please whether it is desirable to fo it before or after the cloning or restoration.
5. How can i test, if there any real bad sectors, when the software shows different information?
Yours sincerely,
Alexander
