Incremental Backup stores too much data

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I have the feeling that my incremental backup of Acronis True Image Home 2010 (build 6053) stores too much data. At first, I did a full backup (disk and partition backup) of about 100 GB and 4 days later an incremental backup which accounted for 55 GB. Again 4 days later there were additional 50 GB.

I have the feeling that Acronis is not checking the files properly, because I am using my computer in a "standard user way" and cannot image that more than have of the hard disk drive has been changed within just 4 days and again after additional 4 days.

Has anyone a guess what could be wrong?

TI doesn't check files as such. It checks changes in sectors so if the OS is writing to the drive, you have a defragmenter running or a lot of behinds the scenes writing to the disk the incrementals can get big.
