Infinite Queing

Thread needs solution

Can't seem to get an actual Drive backup (other than full computer) to run. For a 2TB drive to an empty 3TB
disk I have been "queing" for 36hrs with no end in sight. Any help out there? 2015 build 6525 on win8.1

What you describe is not normal. I would suggest you cancel the backup and begin with another new task under a new task name and new target folder or sub-folder name.

Be sure that TrueImage is seeing the 3tb disk. There have been reports that some 3tb disks can only be seen via usb2 either via a usb2 connector or a usb2 cable. HOw is the 3tb formated? Is it GPT or if MBR, is what size is the target partition?

TrueImage ties a specific disk to each backup task. Whatever target disk is attached at time of task creation and assigned to that task becomes the expected target disk for all backups of that task and will not work with any other disk other than the one assigned at task creation time.

What type backup are you attempting to perform

Entire disk, or
Partition(s), or
File Only

what type backup scheme being used
Full only, or
FULL plus 'n incrementals, or
FULL plus 'n differentials

Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.

Editing an existing task is not recommended. Better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme....Store/Keep 4 versions (chains). Use whatever number best fits the individual needs..

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 6 Inc per chain. Store/Keep 4 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 2 Diff per chain. Store/Keep 2 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

Guess I should have added that the backups were working previously.

Tried uninstall/reinstall and things have changed. No more queing but now I get "Failed to run task:error occurred while trying to run the task." Event code is: Event code: 0x00640160+0x00900012+0x00090070+0x000907D2 but I cannot get results on knowledge base.

Uninstall, use the Acronis CLeanup Utility (follow all instructions carefully), reboot and reinstall. Create new tasks point at empty directories. Does this solve the issue?
