The last backup was canceled by timeout La dernière sauvegarde a été annulée par délai d'expiration

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I wanted to backup a lot of files on Blu Ray Disc. The work begin, and when I come to see if I have to change the Blu Ray Disc, I see this message : " La dernière sauvegarde a été annulée par délai d'expiration", and the tray of my Asus BD burner is opened.
The .tib on BD is unreadeable, unmountable.

I don't want to try again before I get an explanation. I try the support, but it tells me my support program is expired ! I purchased the update in september, used it for the first time in january, and your support is expired...

So, is there anybody who can help me ? Acronis ! Where are you ?

In the Log I picked this :

22:02:17 Code d'événement : 0x00040010+0x0000FFF0+0x80070057
22:02:47 0x1D8EAB676A3F668B
22:02:49 Code d'événement : 0x00040003
22:03:19 0x1D8EAB676A3F668B

02:20:11 Remove the burned disc, mark it as Volume 1
02:30:11 Remove the burned disc, mark it as Volume 1
02:30:15 Interrupted by timeout. Code d'événement : 0x013C0010
Do I have to stay by burner and look at it for two or three hours ????

Lestienne Eric,

Is this a files and folders backup or a disk image that you are trying to do?

Do you have anyother disk utilities running in the background such as InCd or Drag2Disk?

Hello,
Yes, it is a files and folders backup, all my .mp3 files.
Power2Go, and Instant Burn too from Cyberlink were running in the background...

Lestienne Eric,
As your files are already compressed, there is no added space benefit in using any backup program.

My suggestion would be for you to use the normal Bluray burn program and simply copy your mp3 files directed to the optical disk.
The added benefit is that you could still read and listen to the individual files stored on each disk..

or depending upon how many to copy, consider using a normal hard drive and do a normal copy of files from their location to the new hard drive. This would give you a second usable copy. There are several free programs such as Replicator which would do an excellent job of copying and easy followup of only the changes or additions.

Hello GroverH
I still have a copy of my mp3 files on an other hard drive (thanks for Replicator, I'll use it next time).
I just wanted to have a "solid" safety backup on bluray.

But Acronis failed in this job, and I want to know why ?

"But Acronis failed in this job, and I want to know why ?"
Yes, a good question Eric. I want to know too.

This "solution" appears to be saying:

Q. Acronis hasn't worked.
A. Well don't use it then.

Nice.

@Lestienne Eric,

Temporarily disable your Power2Go and InstantBurn and see if TI then will backup to your Blu Ray. I suspect that one of these two utilities might be interfering with the True Image burning software.

Does using an ordinary CD/DVD work?

I tried again, with no one program running in the background, and it failed again, same message" Interrompu par le délai d'expiration - Canceled by timeout"

I use a blu ray burner, Asus. I wasted two Blu Ray Dual Layer : stop, I go back to Nero Back It Up.

Sad, but true.
