Loading Please Wait

Acronis True Image 2014
I have my computer set to boot up by itself every morning and Acronis scheduled to do backups. This morning the backup failed - Insufficient system resources - this happens about once a month but the next backup always succeeds- so I don't normally worry.
However I wanted to change some settings so I started True image - but it never completes loading, it displays a menu and tool bar but also "Loading Please Wait" - I ended up downloading and installing the latest version - but still have that problem.
I can access existing backups, including the C: backup from yesterday.

I continued to get "Loading Please Wait" for several days and I also found that I am unable to change setting on Windows Backup, it also times out, but I can see what backups I have and the last backup date.
On Friday I reinstalled Acronis with "Repair" - last night I was able to open Acronis and add a new backup profile, and manually start backups. I was also able to change setting on Windows Backup.
This morning - they both fail again. However scheduled Acronis backups continue to work every day.
