Locked files abort backup

Thread needs solution

I just purchased Acronis True Image to find that I can not backup a network drive. I'm using the latest version build 6029 running Vista. The scenario is that I'm backing up a network drive to a locally connected USB drive. The backup starts just fine and I get roughly 9GB into the backup, and then the backup appears to just just stop. Since the backup itself doesn't display anything usefull about the status, I have no idea what it is doing, nor what file/directory it was backing up. Strangely enough, there is still indeed obvious network traffic, however it like the software quit writing the data to the backup file, but is still reading from the network drive. The software is still consuming 50% CPU usage, so it at least THINKS its doing something. There aren't any issues with the network, nor reading/writing to the USB drive. I've disabled all firewalls and antivirus software which did not help. I've turned off compression in the software. No data has been written to the backup file for the past two hours in my last test. I've rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, and still no luck. Anyone else experience this, or at least had success with backing up a network drive? Is there any additional debugging information stored anywhere that might give me a clue as to what it thinks its doing?
Thanks,
Jesse

Ok, so here is the deal, I let the back up run until something finally happened. Apparently the backup got stuck on a locked file. Apparently it took almost 2.5 hours before it finally errored and aborted the backup. So, my question is, why did it abort the backup all together? I'm not finding any settings anywhere to tell the backup program how to handle locked files, or how long to wait and retry and then eventually skip the file. So, at the moment, if the backup hits a locked file, the back after a couple of hours just aborts. And by the way, silent mode does not handle this either and appears to actually function backwards. When I check the box for silent mode, errors are displayed, when I uncheck the check box, errors are hidden, and eventually abort the backup. Please tell me there is some way to at least skip locked files? If not, the program is useless!??!

Bump, I submited a help desk ticket and have not received a response on this yet. I have a product that is useless at this point. Any help with the locked file issue would be appreciated!
