lost recovery CD system bsod how do I create a new one

Thread needs solution

I just got a BSOD after running combofix on my XP system. It has Acronis True Image Home 10 installed. I cannot find my recovery disk and would like to restore the backup I have on an external hard drive. I do have a copy of the CD I created when I downloaded the product if that can be used to create the recover disk. I also have Acronis True Image 11 on the machine I am using to create this post. Can I create a recover cd on this system and use it on the broken system?

Yes. normally you should be able to restore a version 10 backup when booted from a version 11 Recovery CD.

Start the V11 program from within Windows and choose the "Create bootable media" option.
insert a blank CD in the tray but do not close the tray. Allow the program to close the tray when needed.

Thank you. That part of the process worked. When I went to find my backups I had none in over a year. I had been seen something a few weeks ago that indicated a backup, but there was nothing recent on the external drive. I have learned that I need to monitor the backups more closely as well as create a recovery disk.

It is also very easy to make a backup when booted from the TI Recovery Bootable media CD. When selecting what is to be included in the backup, just be sure and check mark the "disk" as the option to be backed up. This option will cause all partitions to be included within the backup.
