Major problem with ATI 2010 update backup function

Thread needs solution

Hello,
this is the scenario:
- OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
- Acronis True Image Home 2010 build 6.053

The problem: after successfully performing some backups, does not matter if disk images or selected files from ATI main menu, I select "Restore", right click on a backup, then I select "Update": the backup window will always present me the option to update the *last* backup done, unregardless which was the selected backup.

To reproduce:
- create folder "1", and a sample text file (1.txt) inside
- create folder "2", and a second sample text file (2.txt) inside

Now from ATI create a backup task (named "1") for folder 1, and perform the backup; then create a new task (named "2") for folder 2, and again perform the backup.
Now, go to task "1" from "Restore" and select "Update": ATI will show the only option to update task "2", the last performed. The "Add to existing backup" selection is checked, but the "Select" or "Browse" button is grayed out and I cannot change the selected backup. Note that the files to add to the backup are always correct (1.txt is selected for task "1", 2.txt for task "2"), but they will be always added to the last backup which was done.

My backup options are: no schedule, differential, with all 3 consolidation options set, password set, no encryption, max compression, altough I think this does not make any difference.

If I select "Update" from the "Home" menu, the correct backup is selected but it is not possible to change options; besides this is not a suitable option, since I have many different backups which I need to update regularly.

I also tried to reinstall the acronis scheduler service with schedmgr.exe utility, no success.
It makes sense, none of my backups are scheduled.

I hope I'm doing something wrong; otherwise this should be considered a really blocking bug.

Thank in advance for any help.

Best Regards

Fabrizio
