Making a backup that is bootable when restored

Thread needs solution

I am about to install Windows yet again and when I get it all setup and ready to go I want to make a backup using TI2013

How can I make the backup be bootable when restored?

I'll probably make a disk backup - Does that include the mbr? If so does that get restored when you restore the backup?

Cheers Martin

Martin,
Assuming that your hardware is not GPT style partitions and not Windows 8.

Perform a disk mode backup as illustrated in the first few pictures illustratrated in link #2 below.

Once you have that backup, you can use the True Image Recovery CD to perform a disk option restore as shown in link #3 below, and item 2 inside linik 3. This item 2 shows how to perform a disk option restore. Your replacement disk should be bootable providing you follow the listed instructions. Creating a new replacement bootable disk is one of the major functions of TrueImage. That procedure is done regularly by the software. Unless you have something very special in hardware, it should create a bootable replacment disk for you as well.

Why not do a restore onto a test disk and check for yourself. Using a test disk is a safe route if your are not a regular user of TrueImage as much will depend upon the selections by the user during the restore.

Cheers Grover - Will check it out then ready.
Haven't really got a spare test disc - So hopefully following your docs and it should work!
