Making individual backups

Thread needs solution

Hi

I prefer to make a stand alone image of my whole disc on my Laptop which I do every two weeks. I also alternate the backup drive between two different USB External HDDs.

I then like to retain only the most recent two backups on each of the external HDDs and delete the older ones as I make new ones.

I set my settings to custom backup, single version, validate after creation and include the date in the name of each backup.

However, despite doing this, my backup names do not show the unique name (i.e. the date created) and they appear in the list of available backups as one entry making the deletion of selected backups impossible.

I have read the help files but am still confused. Can anyone please tell me how I can make each backup unique and ensure they appear in the list as separate entries?

This has now been resolved with help from Acronis.

Hopefully, they showed you how to use the automatic cleanup as per one of these 3 examples.
These examples provide for automatic deletion of oldest backup by the program so you won't end up with a "disk full" error message. Each different target disk will need its own indivual backup task.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme.Keep 4 versions (chains). The 4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs..

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains. The 2-2 is an example
