MBR Boot sector saved on partition backups?

Thread needs solution

Gents,
I wonder in which case the MBR is saved with the image and when not.
f.e. I primarily like to save the primarty partition of a multi-part-HDD and including the boot-sector.

Stefan:

The "MBR" (actually, it is the first 63 sectors on the disk, commonly known as Track 0) is saved with every image backup. If you restore it, everything in the first 63 sectors is restored with the exception of the partition table. Normally, a Windows user would not ever need to do this. The feature is most useful for anyone using a third-party boot manager like GRUB, BING, etc.
