MBR error 3 on ACER ASPIRE One

I installed Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack on an ACER ASPIRE ONE Netbook. After executing a one click backup I started receiving the MBR Error 3 message at bootup. I reinstalled the OS back to factory settings using the ACER eRecovery Management Restore feature. That did not resolve the issue. When I called the manufacturer they immediately asked me if I had installed Acronis and that it was a known issue associated with Acronis installation. I have not reinstalled Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack and need to get the MBR issue resolved first. I am running XP Home edition. How do I fix the MBR error and what do I have to do so that it does not occur after installing the application again? Thanks

Did you also enable the ASRM? I don't think the One-Click Backup changes the MBR.

If you have an XP CD, you could boot to the Recovery Console and run the fixmbr command to repair the MBR back to standard.
