MBR not working
I think that my problem is that my master boot record is corrupted.
I am using Win7 Home Premium 64 bit. I have my Win7 installation across to partitions (disk2 is C and disk 1 is D)
I did a full back up. I have restored many times from a full back up never restoring MBR. Partition C is on an SSD drive and I did a secure erase. So this time I want to restore MBR. But I see MBR on both Disk 1 and Disk 2. I select to restore ALL of Drive 2 (C and MBR) and to restore only D on Disk 1
It never boots and I suspect corrupt MBR. I had same problem with Vista and was able to boot to recovery console and apply bootrec / fixboot. BUT I do not have a recovery disk for Win7.
how can I apply a bootrec repair without Win7 recovery console? my Acronis restore always says successful. my partitions look OK, my C drive is set to Active.
