Memory Issues
Just want to confirm that any system flakiness (CPU, memory, etc) will likely be exposed by the TI verification/restoration process.
I had a stick of memory going bad and the only indication was that after five years, the TI .tib validation task started to fail. There were no other symptoms in any of the other programs I run.
I swapped out the bad memory with some new memory I purchased. I had run memtest86 on it, not overnight but for 30 minutes and about five iterations of all the tests. Memtest reported no errors.
Performed a new backup with the new memory and ran validation. It failed again! Decided to run Prime95 to stress the system and memory. After about 10 minutes some of the workers stopped.
Turns out I had to run the memory at a slightly slower speed than rated. Now Prime95 runs with no errors, validation and recovery completes with no issues.
The point is that the TI verification process was catching a very elusive memory error that even Memtest86 was not reporting.
So, if your .tib's are not verifying if could be a very subtle problem with your system. In my case, it was only exposed about running Prime95 and really taxing the whole system to expose it.
