Migrate data from 2TB to 3TB HDD

Thread needs solution

I have Windows 7 x64 PC with OS in C: and Data in D:
C: is 500GB HDD with OS and program files installed, while D: is 2TB HDD is my data.
D: is almost full and I purchased a 3TB HDD to replace it.
I will format the 3TB HDD as GPT partition and the whole disk will be single drive letter.

I want to know if Acronis True Image Home 2013 can achieve this purpose.
Should I use Disk Cloning, Backup Restore or Synchronization feature to transfer all data from current D: to the new 3TB disk? I require all NTFS permissions and ownership to be kept.

Do I need Plus Pack to achieve this purpose?

Please help.

Bok.

True Image can image to and from GPT disks, you will only need the Plus PAck if you were to make your disks into dynamic disks or RAID.

My personal recommendation would be to image your current drive and restore it to the new disk.

May I have a more details:

1. Image your current drive.
- Should I do it from BootCD or inside WIndows 7 GUI?

2. Restore to new disk
- Should I do it from BootCD or Windows 7 GUI?

You are better off doing both operations from the recovery CD.
