Mount image freezes

Thread needs solution

Using TU2012 build 6131 full version activated, on Windows XPpro sp3 computer.

1. Click to mount image (on same computer).
Mount Image window appears and allows me to select a .tib,
but then freezes. (I waited half an hour and then managed to force
it to close with Task Manager).

2. Before you ask why I am not using latest version, TU says there is a newer version, but all attempts to install it fail (no error message -- installer just says rolling back, and leaves me with original version).
I have another PC WinXPpro with separate full activated copy TU2012. This has same problem in that update does not work.

I'm using 7119 and xp Pro, sp3.

I have the same issues as you but if I disable my eSet AntiVirus for a few minutes, then I can mount without issues so I have a comflict between eSet and TrueImage which I work around. The mount is my only conflict between the two. It might be something worth trying on your av. I mount only one partition--not all.

I am also having a problem with the program/computer freezing if I try to mount an image using TI2012. My computer is on a company network and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 for workstations is running. Is this the problem? I am unable to pause/stop Kaspersky since it takes a password to do so and the IT folks here do not give that out.

Will I have the same mount problem with TI2013?

Thanks,

Doug

Doug, there is no way of anyone knowing whether you will have that issue with 2013.

Some guides when attempting to mount:

Only mount the drive you need. Use the options to prevent any letters from being assigned to partitions not needed.

If it does not work in read only mode, try mounting in read/write mode.

Perhaps Kaspersky has a setting whereby your IT people could add the Acronis programs to the list if programs to ignore.

Edit:
A new purchaser of 2013 has 30 days of free official support from Acronis from date of purchase. If your issue continues, be sure and fill out a support ticket request before the first 30 days expire.

Interesting solution--I checked the box "mount image in read-write mode" and things worked just fine. I am not sure why but perhaps Kaspersky needed that level of access to the newly mounted partition/drive?

In any event that seems to have worked. Drive letter is assigned pretty quickly and no apparent problems.

Perhaps you should post this as a recommendation to others with this problem?
