Mounting *.tib files
Errors while mounting *.tib files.
The first error that shows up is: "Cannot Initialize Backup Archive Explorer. Please reinstall True Image"
Next shows proposed Drive letters
Finally "Cannot assign a drive letter to a partition from the backup archive"
Attached screen captures.
This worked on Win 8.1/64

I have uninstalled all traces of Acronis with IObit uninstaller and reinstalled twice with reboots without success, however I made no attempt to roll back any windows updates.
Looks like that they may be next(aarrgghh).

Why not consider running the TI cleanup utility (signature link item 4 below)
Read the text instructions--expecially under the "common" instructions.

TI cleanup "Wrong OS" for Windows 10

I have Acronis TrueImage2015 and ran the 7/20/15 update Build 6613. I have updated my computer to Windows 10 also 64 bit. I tried mounting an image and got the error "Cannot initialize Backup Archive Explorer. Please reinstall True Image." I first tried doing the 'Repair' option by launching Build 6613. Did not resolve. Next step will be to uninstall and reinstall.

Completed the uninstall, reboot, install, activate, and still get the same error. I decided to try some different image files and it appears that the Full images are mountable.

I believe now that my recollection was in error. I think my Acronis files or the Acronis registry entries were damaged somehow, and when I booted, I would get a message that the TIB Mounter was installing a driver (as it is a device, and must be initialized on each reboot). The installation of the driver would always fail, and I think that I was recalling that message at boot time, rather than an update offered during Windows Update.
I completely uninstalled True Image, and reinstalled "from scratch", and now the error message at boot is gone, and I can again mount .tib files.

The tool has not been updated since the release of Windows 10. You could try the 'run as' option - I was not brave enough to do so (but I had the added complication of having ATI 2016 beta installed).
Suggest contacting Tech support and asking if the Tool is safe to use under Windows 10.

I am not sure if I was clear enough, but since TI cleanup would not run under W10
I Uninstalled ATI again and also Acronis Universal Restore .... and removed folder in %USERPROFILE%\Roaming\Acronis and reinstalled ATI.
It all works now
