Multiple backup files only 4 MB in size when backing up to NAS
I am using Acronis True Image 2015 - Build 6525
I am saving my backups to a Drobo NAS running firmware 3.2.2 [8.57.73889] over Gig-E network
When I look at the files that are being saved now, I see the attached (AcronisIssue.png). Where there are some files that are 4 mb and others that are 200 mb, yet it never finishes (because of errors below).
I have a C: drive that is 238 GB SSD and a D: drive that is 3.63 TB on RAID 0+1
The Drobo has it's own custom raid thing, which I believe is similar to RAID 0+1 and has 8 TB of storage
Also, when I run Acronis and let it sit overnight, I end up getting the following errors
<event id="230" level="4" module="4" code="3" time="1429882866" message="Error occurred while writing the file." line_tag="0x1D8EAB676A3F6ADE" >
And a message that asks if I want to cancel and retry on the UI.
Yet when I network monitor, there are no disconnections and the Drobo responds to pings the whole time.
This used to work with previous builds in February (when my last backup was). Any help would be much appreciated!
(This setup used to work back in February and stopped working when I updated during that time frame).

The error you get in the overnight scenario I think is an email notification error, have you setup email notifications in the application? See link below:

Not sure what or why your backup is splitting, did you choose backup to FTP server when you created the backup task?

I did find a reference for a write error but I do not think it applies in this instance:

I have traced this to a write issue with the Drobo, seems like the latest firmware is having write issues.
Thank you.

Well that could be, had a look at the Drobo thread, what drive arrangement do you have in the Drobo? I see that you have 8TB total space is that usable space? What brand, model drives are you using? Are you using an SSD in the mix?
I do not own a Drobo but do have experience with NAS. I have a custom built NAS box running FreeNAS with 4 WD 3TB Red drives. This is on a Gigabit network with no less than 9 clients 2 wired and the rest wireless. I am using a new Asus AC3200 mutilband wireless router (which is killer I might add) with a Trendnet 8 port Gigabit switch, have Jumbo Frames enabled set at 9000MTU as all wired devices in the LAN support it. My average transfer speed is 105MBps and reach peaks of 120MBps during transfers. I know this doesn't help you in your situation but does show that it is possible.
I would add that any device in your network that does not or cannot support Gigabit E will bring down the rest of the system to 100Gb speed or less so that may be something to look for.

I got it working. It's kind of a stupid reason. I had the Drobo upstairs connected to an Amped Wireless router etc..
Long story short, I moved it downstairs where all my core switches are and went from a 0 mb/s drops once - 5 mb/s up to 50 mb/s steady.
So long story short, it's all about the network :-)
Thank you for the posts!
