NAS not listed in "Configure" window

Thread needs solution

I have been backing up my NAS with Acronis since the 2009 ver. Upgraded to 2011 when it came out. My NAS backup was to only backup folders I selected. Recently it has been backing up the entire drive and then the error file tells me it could not find some folders. Looking in the backup file I see all the folders the error file told me were not backed up. I decided it was time to create a new backup process.

In the Acronis "Configure" window my mapped NAS drive is not listed. I can not find any way to add the drive to the list of "what to back up" in the window. I can backup to the NAS just fine. It shows up in the "Destination" window when I browse.

How do I configure Acronis to backup the files from my NAS to an external drive attached to my computer if Acronis doesn't list it.

Also, does anyone know how to contact support? I purchased a support incident 5 days ago. The Acronis web site does not recognize my Invoice number or the Reference Number on the Acronis Receipt I printed. When I call today(7/16) the phone plays nice music but no one answers after 10 minutes. There is no one available on Chat today either.

Larry,

ATI 2011 doesn't work well with mapped drives. Disconnect your mapped drive first. Then start ATI and configure your destination with the full UNC path, something like \\NAS\Share\Folder\Systembackup.tib

ATI is working fine with the mapped NAS drive as a destination. The problem is how to get ATI to use it as the source so I can backup the files from the NAS to a USB drive I connet to my desktop.

ATI only presents me with the logical partitions on the computer or if I go to the disk mode I am presented with the disks in my computer. I see no way to get the source window "what to backup" to list my NAS.

I understand. You woudln't see it for sure in a disk and partition backup or a NSB backup, but you should see it in a file backup.
Can you see it when you unfold the network folder?

Disk/partition mode is indeed for physical disks only. You should use 'file backup' for it - then it will allow you to select files on NAS as source.

DUH! One can become so focused on trying to map/unmap the drive that one loses track of the missions. Yes, you are very correct. File backup is the solution. I can't believe I didn't see that.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
