Netbook Edition USB Boot stick

Thread needs solution

This just plain does NOT work on an EEE PC (1005HA). It just hangs on the bootloader.

Is there a fix available?

Hello Mike,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition is designed for and specifically supports the netbook processors and models listed in this article. Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition does not support netbook models not listed there. I can’t see your model of the netbook in this list so I assume this is the reason of the issue.

Have you managed to successfully install the software and the issue occurs only under rescue media? If so what is the exact model and vendor of the netbook?

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Dmitry,

The article you refer to lists four netbook models (not brands, just models) that have been tested with True Image Netbook Edition.

Are you really saying as a representative of Acronis that Netbook Edition works on only four models of netbooks out of the dozens that must now be available?

If you are correct, it seems extraordinary that Acronis would launch a product that only works on four models of netbook. Even more extraordinary is that Acronis does not appear to mention this on the packaging. Would you like to confirm that this is the situation?

Hello MisterMicawber,

Let me shed some light on your concern:

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition is designed for and is expected to support all Intel Atom and VIA based netbooks.

However, only 4 models have been physically tested in the Acronis labs:

  • ASUS Eee PC 901
  • HP 2133 Mini-Note PC
  • Dell Inspiron Mini 10
  • Acer Aspire One 531

That's why we highly recommend you to install the trial version of the software first to check if it's compatible with your netbook.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

The ATI product works on 10.1" netbooks and fails on all models (the eeePC as well as the Acer) with the 11.6" display. (Clearly a different bios/display controller.)

No, that is not correct. I have an Acer Aspire One AO721 with 11.6" display 1366x768 and K125 processor and Netbook Edition works fine with it.
