Thread needs solution

I'm new to Acronis 2014 and have a question re: Restoring a Disk Backup. Even though I made a Disk Backup (not partitions), it had me select all the partitions to restore, then I got a notice that it would 1st have to delete all the partitions on my drive before restoring my backup. This made me worry about my restore, since after doing this before using TI 2013 on my Windows 8.1, it simply deleted partitions and destroyed my computer. Should I just allow it TI 2014 to delete all the partitions before restoring my hard drive?

Create a full disk mode Backup, selecting the checkbox for the entire disk (not just individual partitions). That ensures that you have everything you need, and you won't need to understand how the disk is laid out with possible hidden partitions. A full disk mode Backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

You should boot from the ATI bootable Rescue Media now, to ensure that it recognizes your hardware and your backup drive. After creating a backup, Boot from the ATI Rescue Media, and choose a file-based restore and restore a couple of files. That will give you high confidence that you'd be able to do a full restore in an emergency.

Thank You. I guess that it has to delete and replace the files so the popup shouldn't scare me that it will wipe out my drive and then leave me hanging (like it did with TI 2013)
